Lucknow, February 16 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a resounding speech in the Legislative Council on Monday, thanking the Governor for his address while launching a sharp critique against the opposition. He declared that the state has evolved from a ‘fear zone’ to a ‘faith zone,’ emphasizing, ‘No curfews, no riots—everything is thriving in UP.’
CM Yogi condemned the opposition’s alleged disrespectful conduct toward the Governor, calling it a breach of democratic norms. ‘Honoring constitutional heads is our collective duty,’ he asserted, accusing rivals of harboring negative mindsets. Over the past nine years, UP has journeyed from crime and chaos to discipline, from curfews to rule of law, from unrest to celebrations, and from distrust to self-confidence.
The double-engine government’s clear policies, honest intentions, and decisive leadership have reshaped governance. Since 2017, not a single communal riot has occurred in the state. Once plagued by ‘one district, one mafia’ dynamics, rampant goonda taxes, and illegal extortions, UP now enforces a zero-tolerance policy against crime.
Today, Uttar Pradesh stands as a model of technology, trust, and transformation. Echoing Prime Minister Modi’s vision, the CM highlighted the state’s alignment with emerging technologies and AI advancements. UP is on track to become a revenue surplus state, emerging as a hub for investment, innovation, and transparency.
‘Development rooted in heritage forms the foundation of a bright future,’ Yogi stated. He accused Congress and Samajwadi Party of insulting national symbols and faith sites for political gain. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi, and revitalization of key pilgrimage sites symbolize a new identity. These are not just faith centers but hubs of national consciousness.
Projects like Maharaja Suh heldev Memorial and University, Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s statue, and massive events such as Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh and Magh Mela underscore growing trust in governance and security. A state once synonymous with riots is now celebrated for Deepotsav, Dev Deepawali, and Rangotsav.
Law and order has been fortified with over 2.19 lakh police recruitments, 20% reserved for women, boosting female officers from 10,000 to over 44,000. Seven police commissionerates, cyber stations, forensic labs, and 75 district forensic vans exemplify modern policing. Reviving 34 PAC companies and forming women battalions—Veerangana Jhalkari Bai, Avanti Bai, and Uda Devi—mark significant strides.
Uttar Pradesh has shed its image of fear, anarchy, and distrust, stepping into an era of development, investment, faith, and self-belief.
