A massive fire broke out in two factories in Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad industrial area on Monday, sending shockwaves through the region. The inferno erupted around noon at Chran Autotech and Bharat Oil factories in Site-4, prompting an immediate response from the fire department.

Fire stations in Sahibabad and Vaishali dispatched the first responders, with two tenders from Sahibabad and three more led by senior officers from Vaishali racing to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters faced a raging fire that had spread rapidly across both units, billowing thick black smoke visible from afar.

The intensity of the blaze created panic in nearby areas, but quick thinking by Chief Fire Officer ensured reinforcements arrived swiftly. Additional tenders from Kotwali, Modinagar, Loni, Hapur district, and Gautam Buddh Nagar joined the effort, making it a total of 10 vehicles combating the flames.

Chran Autotech, which manufactures motorcycle auto parts, saw its tin shed collapse under the heat, burying stockpiles of parts. Flammable materials like plastic, thermocol, and packaging in the front section fueled the fire’s ferocity. The adjacent Bharat Oil factory also caught sparks, but crews contained it early.

After hours of relentless water jets from multiple directions, the fire was fully doused. Miraculously, no lives were lost, though property damage is expected to be substantial. The swift coordination prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding factories and residential zones.

Investigations into the cause are underway, highlighting the critical role of vigilant fire services in averting disaster in densely packed industrial hubs.
