Gorakhpur, February 15: On the sacred occasion of Maha Shivratri, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also the head priest of Gorakhnath Temple, led elaborate worship rituals invoking blessings for the well-being of the state’s residents. In a deeply spiritual display at the Shakti Peeth within Gorakhnath Temple complex, the CM performed Rudrabhishek, a profound Vedic ceremony dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Following the public darshan session, Yogi Adityanath ascended to the first floor of the temple’s matha for the rituals. Priests and Vedic scholars chanted powerful mantras from the Shukla Yajurveda Rudrashtadhyayi as the deity was bathed in panchamrit – a sacred mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar. The ceremony culminated in fervent prayers for prosperity, health, peace, and abundance across the entire creation.

The spiritual journey continued as the Chief Minister visited the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Andhiyari Bag. Here, he offered prayers and performed abhishek with milk and water amid Vedic chants. The rituals concluded with havan and aarti, attended by prominent figures including MP Ravi Kishan Shukla and Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava.

In the afternoon, Yogi reached Piteshwar Nath Temple in Bharohia, a site linked to the Pandava era and closely tied to Gorakhnath Peeth. He conducted jalabhishek, seeking universal welfare, happiness, and tranquility. Post-rituals, he interacted with locals, blessed children, encouraged young athletes, and met with community leaders, reinforcing his commitment to both spirituality and public service.
