New Delhi witnessed a significant Hindu conference in Mehrauli on Sunday, marking the culmination of a nationwide series organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to celebrate its centenary. Launched on January 25, these events across India aim to unite the Hindu community, fostering awareness about religion, culture, and traditions.
The Mehrauli gathering, held in Garhwal Basti, kicked off with a traditional havan ceremony. Speakers emphasized the importance of social harmony, worship practices, and cultural preservation. Organizers chose service colonies like this one to ensure broad participation from everyday citizens.
Hira Singh Rana, the conference president, highlighted the RSS’s role in countering recent attacks on Sanatana Dharma, often amplified on social media. ‘These assaults are heartbreaking,’ he said, underscoring the need for initiatives that strengthen societal bonds.
Hemraj Singh Atri voiced concerns over younger generations drifting from religious disciplines and environmental stewardship. He praised the conferences for reigniting cultural values and promoting unity. As the RSS enters its 100th year, such programs signal a renewed commitment to Hindu society’s cohesion amid modern challenges.
