In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Rajasthan Police uncovered an illegal mephedrone manufacturing unit hidden in a remote farmland shed in Pratapgarh district. The operation, dubbed ‘Operation Chakravyuh,’ led to the seizure of drugs worth approximately Rs 1.60 crore, weapons, and production equipment, exposing an interstate drug racket.

Acting on intelligence, a team from Hathunia police station raided a secluded field along the Asawata-Kulthana road. Inside a makeshift structure covered with cement sheets, officers discovered a sophisticated mini-drug lab. They recovered 1.897 kilograms of mephedrone, whose street value is estimated at Rs 1.60 crore in international markets.

The raid also yielded manufacturing tools including induction cookers, mixers, heaters, and digital weighing scales. Two suspects were arrested: Murad Khan Pathan from Asawata in Pratapgarh and Mohammad Junaid from Mehsana, Gujarat. During interrogation, they confessed to producing the narcotic substances over the past two days.

Two other individuals, Jivan Anjana from Pratapgarh and Sharik alias Jerry from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, managed to flee under the cover of darkness. Police have formed teams to apprehend them.

A loaded pistol with five live cartridges was found on Murad Khan, who has a criminal history including attempted murder and NDPS Act cases. Authorities also impounded a Yamaha motorcycle and a car used in the smuggling operations.

Led by Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the operation was supervised by Additional SP Gajendra Singh Jodha and Circle Officer Gajendra Singh Rawat. The raiding team included ASI Udaiveer Singh, ASI Manohar Singh, Head Constable Suresh Kumar, and others.

Investigations continue to unravel the supply chain and distribution networks linked to the seized narcotics, signaling a renewed push against drug syndicates in the region.
