In a major boost for urban commuters, the Central Government has greenlit the expansion of Noida Metro Rail Corporation’s Aqua Line from Botanical Garden to Sector 142. This 11.56-kilometer elevated corridor, estimated at Rs 2,254.35 crore, promises to transform travel between Noida and Greater Noida.
The project, already approved by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet via its Detailed Project Report, now has full central clearance, paving the way for construction to begin soon. Officials aim to complete it within four years, introducing eight new stations: Botanical Garden, Sector-44, Noida Office, Sector-97, Sector-105, Sector-108, Sector-93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College.
Linking seamlessly with Delhi Metro’s Blue Line at Botanical Garden, the extension will offer uninterrupted access to the capital, slashing commute times and easing chronic traffic congestion. Environmental benefits are also on the horizon, with reduced vehicle emissions expected in high-density residential and commercial hubs like Sectors 44, 93, 105, and 108.
Thousands of IT professionals and corporate workers stand to gain the most, gaining a reliable daily transit option. Real estate markets in these sectors are buzzing with optimism, anticipating a surge in property values and development.
Adding to the momentum, the government has also approved a shorter 2.6-km stretch from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki, costing Rs 416 crore, with stations at Junpat and Bodaki. A state-of-the-art station is planned at Bodaki.
These initiatives align perfectly with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, fortifying public transport infrastructure and spurring economic growth in the National Capital Region.
