New Delhi’s diplomatic circles are buzzing with praise from Argentina’s ambassador as he highlights India’s remarkable economic transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the CS India Borderless Bharat Conclave held at the IIMT Group of Colleges in Noida, Mariano Couchino emphasized the deepening ties between the two nations.
Couchino pointed out that the economies of Argentina and India are highly complementary, paving the way for robust economic collaboration. Since elevating their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2019, bilateral trade has flourished, reaching approximately $5 billion in recent years.
‘India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy,’ the ambassador declared, noting India’s ascent to become Argentina’s sixth-largest economic partner. This growth is fueled by India’s expanding global influence and the synergistic nature of their markets.
In a strong endorsement of Modi’s vision, Couchino credited market-driven reforms for propelling millions into the middle class and positioning India as both the most populous nation and a formidable economic powerhouse. ‘Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has achieved extraordinary success,’ he stated.
The ambassador reminisced about 2025 as a landmark year, marked by PM Modi’s visit to Argentina. The positive dialogue between Modi and President Javier Milei is expected to further strengthen cooperation across sectors.
Earlier this month, India’s Ambassador to Argentina, Ajay Kumar, met with Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto Presti, where they agreed to expedite a defense cooperation agreement. These developments signal a new era of multifaceted partnerships between the two countries, promising mutual prosperity and strategic alignment on the global stage.
