Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a game-changing initiative for the state’s youth. Degrees from the upcoming Forestry and Horticulture University in Campierganj will come with a job guarantee. This pioneering institution, set to be Uttar Pradesh’s first of its kind, promises vast employment opportunities both nationally and globally for its graduates.
Speaking at the inauguration of the renovated BDO office in Jungle Kaudia block, the CM emphasized the university’s dual role. Beyond job creation, it will empower farmers by boosting their incomes through advanced forestry and horticulture practices. ‘This university will be a beacon for environmental conservation and agricultural prosperity,’ Yogi declared to an enthusiastic crowd.
The CM drew cultural parallels, highlighting the new Giddhraj Jatayu Conservation Center in Campierganj. Referencing the epic Ramayana, he noted Jatayu’s heroic stand against Ravana and his role as Lord Vishnu’s mount. With vulture populations declining due to chemicals and pesticides, this center honors our gratitude towards nature’s guardians.
Yogi addressed pressing environmental challenges, particularly air pollution plaguing cities like Delhi. ‘Pollution destroys lungs and health; clean air means healthy lives,’ he stated. The university will tackle these issues head-on, increasing forest cover and promoting sustainable farming.
Reflecting on development since 2017, the CM listed achievements in Gorakhpur: revived fertilizer plants, operational AIIMS, upgraded medical colleges, restarted sugar mills, compressed biogas plants, and booming industries in GEIDA. Infrastructure upgrades like bypasses have slashed travel times to Lucknow to just three hours.
Flood mitigation efforts, new educational institutions including a degree college in memory of Mahant Avdheynath ji, sports facilities, and welfare schemes like housing, toilets, rations, Ayushman Bharat, and pensions have transformed lives. Yogi connected personally with locals, recalling his visits to every village and resolutions to longstanding issues.
Praising local leaders like the late Ram Pati Yadav and current block chief Brijesh Yadav for efficient fund utilization, including AC halls and solar panels, the CM assured continued support. He extended Mahashivratri greetings, calling it a symbol of auspiciousness.
Campierganj MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh lauded Yogi’s leadership in law and order, industry, employment, women’s safety, and welfare. He confirmed the Asia’s largest forestry university’s foundation stone will soon be laid by the CM, marking a new era of green development.
