In a proactive move to ensure seamless celebrations, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Rajgir in Nalanda district on Saturday. His tour kicked off with a thorough inspection of Griddhakoot Bhawan, where he scrutinized the ongoing arrangements and facilities available for visitors.

Moving forward, the CM took stock of the newly constructed ropeway, emphasizing the need for top-notch tourist amenities. He issued firm directives to officials, stressing that all systems must run flawlessly to prevent any inconvenience to tourists flocking to this historic site.

The highlight of the visit was at the Rajgir International Convention Center, where preparations for the much-anticipated Malmas Mela 2026 were discussed in detail. Nalanda District Magistrate Kundan Kumar briefed the CM on the comprehensive plans, covering logistics for the month-long event that draws massive crowds of devotees.

Nitish Kumar underscored the importance of pilgrim comfort, instructing authorities to prioritize housing, drinking water, sanitation, basic amenities, and robust security measures. He specifically called for clean ghats, pure water supply, smooth transportation, medical facilities, and airtight security protocols, anticipating a huge turnout.

Later, the CM extended his inspection to the Gangaji Rajgriha reservoir near Motanaje village in Nardiganj block of Nawada district. Officials updated him on the successful implementation of the Gangaji water supply scheme, which now provides purified Ganga water to residents of Gayaji, Bodh Gaya, Nawada, and Rajgir.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, MP Kaushalendra Kumar, MLA Krishna Murari Sharan alias Prem Mukhiya, MLA Kaushal Kishore, and other dignitaries. This visit signals Bihar’s commitment to enhancing pilgrimage and tourism infrastructure ahead of major events.
