New Delhi witnessed a heartfelt tribute on Saturday as Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commemorated the birth anniversary of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. Speaking to the media, Gupta shared profound personal reflections, stating that Swaraj held an irreplaceable place in her life and always will. ‘We miss her dearly,’ she added, her voice tinged with emotion.

Gupta painted a vivid picture of Swaraj’s leadership style, describing it as a perfect blend of compassion and strength. ‘She was an exceptional leader whose guidance touched party workers, local communities, ordinary citizens, the nation, and especially women,’ Gupta remarked. Such personalities, she noted, are rare gems that leave an indelible mark. Even today, Gupta confessed, Swaraj’s absence is deeply felt in her personal journey.

The occasion also marked the unveiling of a grand statue of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founding Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, at the Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan in Shahdara. Gupta called this a moment of immense pride, especially as the RSS celebrates its centenary year. The institution has been serving the healthcare needs of the area for nearly three decades, providing critical treatment to countless patients.

In her X post, Gupta elaborated on the significance of the event. ‘On this glorious occasion, as we install the statue of the architect of national resurgence, Dr. Hedgewar, in the premises of Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan,’ she wrote. She highlighted how the seed sown by Dr. Hedgewar on Vijayadashami in 1925 has grown into a mighty banyan tree dedicated to Mother India’s service. His vision of individual character building leading to societal organization now forms the bedrock of India’s cultural renaissance.

Looking ahead, Gupta outlined ambitious plans to expand the hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment. ‘This statue will forever inspire us with the ideals of service as devotion and nation first,’ she concluded, urging everyone to embrace these timeless values in pursuit of India’s ancient glory and supreme stature.
