Patna’s political arena continues to simmer with heated exchanges following the release of independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, on bail. Fresh out of jail, Yadav wasted no time in firing salvos, alleging a sinister conspiracy by leaders in Patna, Delhi, and Purnea to orchestrate his murder. This bold accusation has drawn a sharp rebuttal from JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, who on Saturday branded the MP a ‘coward in politics.’
Kumar didn’t hold back, challenging Yadav to name the alleged plotters if he has concrete knowledge of the threat. ‘The man who boasts of not fearing Lawrence Bishnoi’s threats now shies away from naming fellow politicians? This hypocrisy exposes his true colors,’ Kumar quipped, accusing Yadav of empty bluster.
The JD(U) leader went further, mocking Yadav’s dramatic jail antics. ‘He feigns illness with back and stomach pains on the way to prison, arriving on a stretcher in tears. Yet, the moment bail is granted, he ditches the wheelchair and sprints to catch a flight,’ Kumar said, referencing the Lawrence Bishnoi episode as a revelation of Yadav’s real persona.
Dismissing Yadav’s track record, Kumar highlighted the MP’s long list of serious charges including robbery, murder, kidnapping, extortion, fraud, and rioting. ‘What credibility does someone with such a history have to expose others? Why was he silent on cases like the Rupesh murder?’ he questioned, implying Yadav’s tactics smack of bargaining.
In a side jab, Kumar labeled former IPS officer Amitabh Das, linked to Yadav’s claims about a student’s death, as ‘politically unhinged.’ ‘If he had evidence, why hasn’t he presented it by now? He’s mentally broken,’ the JD(U) leader asserted.
As Bihar’s elections loom, this spat underscores the intensifying rivalries, with Yadav’s camp yet to respond to the blistering counterattack. The public watches closely as accusations fly in this high-stakes political theater.
