Mumbai’s law enforcement agencies are on high alert following the brazen firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence. The Mumbai Crime Branch has been probing the case relentlessly, uncovering layers of complexity with each new revelation. Latest investigations reveal a chilling detail: the shooter was not operating alone during the attack.
Sources within the police confirm that a henchman linked to the notorious Bishnoi gang was present at the scene, keeping a sharp lookout on the surroundings. The duo executed the firing and fled together immediately after, vanishing into the night. This points to a meticulously planned operation rather than a random act of violence.
Crime Branch teams have meticulously combed through CCTV footage from Shetty’s home and nearby areas, successfully identifying both suspects. Clear images and videos of the pair are now in police possession. Yet, despite 13 days of intensive searches, neither the shooter nor his accomplice has been apprehended.
Further probes traced their escape route: after the incident, the accused headed to Kalyan railway station, boarding an express train to exit Mumbai. Initial plans involved Vile Parle station, but unavailability of suitable trains forced a switch to private transport straight to Kalyan. From there, they crossed Maharashtra’s borders via the express service.
Authorities are still piecing together the train’s destination and the suspects’ current whereabouts. A senior police official disclosed that teams have been deployed along potential Nepal border routes, suspecting an international getaway. ‘We’re gathering concrete evidence to nab them soon,’ the officer stated, underscoring the ongoing multi-state manhunt.
This incident has raised serious questions about celebrity security in Mumbai, prompting calls for enhanced vigilance. As investigations deepen, the city watches closely for breakthroughs in this high-profile case.
