New Delhi marked a pivotal moment in India’s administrative evolution as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state-of-the-art ‘Seva Tirth’ complex on Friday. This sprawling new administrative hub now houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and Cabinet Secretariat under one roof, signaling a bold shift towards integrated and modern governance.
Joining the Prime Minister at the unveiling were key dignitaries including Minister of State in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The event underscores a historic transition from the aging South Block on Raisina Hill to this futuristic complex on Kartavya Path, just a kilometer away.
Seva Tirth isn’t just a building; it’s a symbol of efficiency. Designed with cutting-edge digital integration, it features streamlined public interfaces, centralized reception areas, and optimized workspaces that promise seamless coordination among top government bodies. Officials highlight how this setup will boost inter-departmental synergy, enhance public service delivery, and create a superior work environment for staff.
Later in the evening, PM Modi is set to inaugurate the Kartavya Bhawan Complexes 1 and 2, which will serve as operational bases for critical ministries like Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, and Education. For decades, these ministries operated from scattered, outdated structures in the Central Vista area, leading to coordination bottlenecks. The new facilities address these longstanding issues head-on.
Sustainability is at the core of these projects. Both complexes adhere to 4-star GRIHA standards, incorporating renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and advanced construction techniques. This green approach minimizes environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.
Security remains paramount, with smart access control systems, modern surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response mechanisms ensuring a safe haven for officials and visitors alike.
This inauguration represents a transformative leap in India’s governance framework, paving the way for a more effective, citizen-centric administration powered by technology and foresight. As India strides towards its vision of Viksit Bharat, Seva Tirth stands as a testament to innovative public service delivery.
