New Delhi is set for a significant administrative upgrade as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the state-of-the-art ‘Seva Tirth’ complex on Friday, marking a new chapter for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). This high-tech facility, featuring smart grids and modern infrastructure, will serve as the central hub for key government operations, consolidating scattered offices into one efficient ecosystem.

The Prime Minister’s schedule includes unveiling the naming plaque for Seva Tirth around 1:30 PM, followed by the formal inauguration of Seva Tirth, Kartavya Bhawan-1, and Kartavya Bhawan-2. Later in the evening, at approximately 6 PM, PM Modi will address a public rally at the venue, highlighting the government’s commitment to efficient governance.

Seva Tirth will house the PMO, National Security Council Secretariat, and Cabinet Secretariat, previously operating from disparate locations. This consolidation promises streamlined coordination and reduced operational bottlenecks that have plagued government functioning for decades.

Kartavya Bhawan-1 and -2 will accommodate major ministries including Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Corporate Affairs, Education, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Tribal Affairs. These ministries have long operated from fragmented, outdated structures across the Central Vista area, leading to inefficiencies, coordination challenges, high maintenance costs, and subpar working environments.

The new complex addresses these issues head-on with digitally integrated offices, organized public interaction zones, and centralized reception facilities. Designed to GRIHA 4-star standards, the buildings incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance structures, boosting operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

Security is paramount, with smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure ensuring a safe environment for officials and visitors alike. This transformative project not only modernizes India’s administrative core but also embodies the ethos of ‘Seva’—service to the nation—setting the stage for a more responsive and future-ready government.
