Gandhinagar is buzzing with anticipation as over 15.27 lakh students gear up for the Class 10 and 12 board exams starting February 26. In a high-level review meeting chaired by Education Minister Dr. Pradyumansinh Vaghela, officials scrutinized every detail to ensure seamless execution across Gujarat’s districts.
The gathering at the Vidya Samiksha Kendra included Education Minister of State Rivaba Jadeja, senior department officials, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) representatives, and top police brass. With Class 10 exams running from February 26 to March 18, over 9 lakh students will test their mettle. Simultaneously, more than 5 lakh Class 12 general stream candidates and 1.19 lakh science stream students will appear between February 26 and mid-March.
Adding to the mix, around 1.35 lakh students are expected for the GUJCET-2026 entrance test. Dr. Vaghela emphasized creating a stress-free, congenial atmosphere, praising district collectors, development officers, police superintendents, and education officers for their coordination efforts.
Drawing inspiration from PM Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, he urged treating exams like a festival, freeing students from exam phobia. Rivaba Jadeja directed a deep dive into past incidents, mandating zero tolerance for mishaps this year. Districts and centers flagged in 2025 results analysis must heighten vigilance.
Key measures include deploying first-aid teams at exam centers to handle anxiety or health issues, and installing metal detectors in sensitive areas to sniff out mobiles, smartwatches, or gadgets. These steps aim to uphold integrity and student well-being, setting the stage for successful board exams statewide.
