Mumbai’s latest crime thriller ‘Vadh 2’ has stormed into theaters, captivating audiences with its gripping narrative and deeply layered characters. The film, which hit screens recently, is earning rave reviews for its storytelling prowess and the nuanced performances on display.

Akshay Singh Dogra takes center stage in a pivotal negative role as Keshav, a character shrouded in moral ambiguity. In an exclusive chat, Dogra opened up about the intensive preparation behind bringing this complex figure to life. He was quick to laud director Jaspal’s unwavering support, saying, ‘The director had an intimate grasp of the entire storyline and every character’s intricacies. That vision made slipping into Keshav’s skin far less daunting.’

During the shoot, Dogra revealed how the role evolved organically. ‘When you’re fully immersed in a character, it starts to develop on its own amid the takes,’ he explained. ‘The character’s arc unfolded naturally, and we collectively decided to convey Keshav’s essence more through piercing looks, calculated actions, and subtle body language rather than heavy dialogue.’

Drawing from personal philosophy, Dogra infused Keshav with influences from Buddhist teachings and the Dalai Lama’s wisdom. ‘We focused on actions over innate nature,’ he shared. ‘No one is born evil; circumstances mold them into darkness. Our discussions revolved around Keshav’s transformation—what pushed him down that path.’

Initially overwhelmed by the role’s demands, Dogra found solace in Jaspal’s reassurance. ‘I was anxious about pulling it off, but he instilled confidence that it would fall into place effortlessly.’ Thanks to the director’s precise guidance and the script’s robust foundation, the character came alive seamlessly.

Reflecting on his seasoned career, Dogra noted a shift in his craft. ‘Working with industry giants has honed my skills. Emotional scenes that once required hours of prep now flip on like a switch. I can tackle four-to-five page monologues with ease these days.’

‘Vadh 2’ continues to resonate, proving that strong direction and actor-director synergy can elevate even the most challenging roles into memorable cinematic triumphs.
