Raipur, February 10, 2026/On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the establishment of GPM district, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai gave a major gift to the district in the health sector. He inaugurated the construction work of the new building of the district hospital. The new district hospital will be built at a cost of approximately 18 crore rupees. This state-of-the-art hospital will have 100 beds. With the construction of this hospital, the citizens of the district will be able to get better and accessible health services. MLA Mr. Pranav Marpachi presided over the program on this occasion.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai said that a healthy society is the foundation of a prosperous state. The construction of a new hospital building in GPM district will give new strength to health facilities. TB-free and child marriage-free Panchayats are proof that when the government and society work together, big social changes are possible. The government is working with full commitment to make Chhattisgarh disease-free, safe, and empowered.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Sai declared 52 Gram Panchayats of the district as TB-free and 71 Gram Panchayats as child marriage-free. The Sarpanches of these Panchayats were honored with certificates and statues of Mahatma Gandhi. It is noteworthy that no cases of child marriage have come to light in the Gram Panchayats declared child marriage-free in the last two years, while no new cases have been registered in TB-free Panchayats for two to three years. This achievement is the result of the joint efforts of public awareness, the health department, and the Panchayats.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off three publicity vans for awareness to accelerate the Filaria Eradication Campaign, so that public awareness can be further strengthened in rural areas. This campaign will start from February 10 and will run till February 25. During this, people will be given free mass drug administration for filaria eradication. MLA Mr. Anuj Sharma, District Panchayat President Ms. Samira Pankyara, many public representatives, senior administrative officers, and a large number of common citizens were present in the program.
