In a meticulously planned operation, Bhopal police launched a massive raid on the Iranian Dera in Aman Colony under Nishatpura police station late Tuesday night. Over 400 officers descended on the location around 2 AM, catching criminals off guard in a shroud of secrecy.
The area was swiftly cordoned off from all sides, sparking panic among residents as teams combed through every house. Suspicious individuals were interrogated on the spot, leading to the detention of more than 40 people, including women. Among the arrested were fugitives wanted in serious cases across Madhya Pradesh and other states.
A key highlight was the capture of Shahaadat, a notorious criminal with a Rs 1.38 lakh bounty on his head. Police had been tracking him for months. The operation, led by DCP Mayur Khandelwal with support from two ADCPs, nine ACPs, and 20 TIs, unfolded under the watchful eye of Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.
This raid comes just a month after the dramatic arrest of Abid Ali alias Raju alias ‘Rahman Dakait’ from the same hideout. Raju allegedly masterminded a multi-state crime syndicate involved in robbery, extortion, arson, and murder attempts across at least 14 states. He even faced charges under Maharashtra’s stringent MCOCA law and often disguised himself as a CBI officer or sadhu to exploit victims.
Authorities are now interrogating the detainees to unravel deeper networks. Bhopal police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling organized crime, signaling more such crackdowns ahead. Residents of Aman Colony expressed relief, hoping for a safer neighborhood.
