Noida is witnessing a sharp rise in seasonal illnesses as fluctuating weather patterns collide with severe air pollution across the National Capital Region (NCR). Hospitals report nearly half of all outpatients suffering from weather-related ailments, including vomiting, diarrhea, fever, sore throats, breathing difficulties, and allergies.

The India Meteorological Department predicts light fog lingering in NCR from February 10 to 12, with daytime highs between 23-26°C and nighttime lows around 11-12°C. Morning chills and evening cold snaps contrast sharply with intense midday sun, leaving residents vulnerable to sudden health dips.

Air quality remains dire, with Delhi’s Anand Vihar at 317, Ashok Vihar at 328, Bawana at 333, Narela at 344, Nehru Nagar at 316, and Mandka hitting a hazardous 357 on the AQI scale. Other areas like Chandni Chowk (291), DTU (283), Punjabi Bagh (275), Okhla Phase-2 (283), and Patparganj (269) also show poor air quality.

    Noida’s sectors aren’t spared: Sector-125 at 307, Sector-116 at 263, Sector-1 at 236, and Sector-62 at 224. Ghaziabad fares worse, with Loni at a critical 402, Indirapuram at 315, Vasundhara at 307, and Sanjay Nagar at 275.

Doctors attribute the surge in gastrointestinal infections and respiratory issues to abrupt weather changes, high humidity, and toxic air. They urge caution: wear masks outdoors during peak pollution hours, drink only purified water, avoid fried foods, and limit exposure in early mornings and evenings. As winter lingers into spring, NCR residents must prioritize health amid this toxic brew.
