Mumbai’s Santa Cruz area was gripped by fear on February 10 when police discovered a gruesome sight on the Kolivada beach near Juhu. Inside a sack, they found the half-decomposed, decapitated body of a young man, sparking a major investigation into what appears to be a brutal murder.

Chaos erupted as locals panicked upon hearing the news. Police quickly cordoned off the area and launched a thorough probe. Initial findings suggest the victim was savagely killed, his head severed from the body, and the remains dumped in the sea to conceal his identity.

The Santa Cruz police registered a case under BNS Sections 103(1) and 238 against an unknown accused. Efforts to identify the victim led them to Malwani in Malad, where reports emerged of a missing person. The deceased was identified as Anil Gaud, 30, who had been missing since January 29.

Shockingly, Anil’s wife filed a missing person report only on February 4, six days after his disappearance. This delay raised red flags, prompting police to detain her for questioning. Investigators are now grilling her, along with family members, relatives, and close friends.

Police are delving deep into Anil’s last movements, mobile call records, financial transactions, and personal relationships. They’re exploring angles like family disputes, monetary issues, or other criminal motives. Officials are confident that startling revelations will emerge soon in this chilling case, as the probe intensifies across multiple fronts.
