Mumbai’s music scene just got richer with the release of ‘Man Hawa’, the latest track from Anubhav Sinha’s gripping courtroom drama ‘Assi’. Playback sensation Mohit Chauhan lends his soulful voice to this Taapsee Pannu starrer, revealing a deep personal connection to the song that captures the film’s intense spirit.
Mohit shared his instant love for the melody, saying the first note hooked him completely. Composed by Ro chak Kohli with lyrics by Kumar, ‘Man Hawa’ is a high-energy anthem brimming with emotion. Sung alongside Parampara Tandon and Ro chak Kohli, it perfectly mirrors the film’s bold exploration of tough questions in a fast-paced investigative narrative.
“Songs that tell a story and carry a powerful message always resonate with me,” Mohit explained. During recording, he let himself flow with raw feelings, breathing life into the narrative. The track confronts fear with courage, silence with truth’s roar, and compromise with unwavering faith. It starts softly, soothing the heart, then builds to ignite unyielding resolve, inspiring listeners to fight for their beliefs against all odds.
Director Anubhav Sinha calls it the emotional heartbeat of ‘Assi’. “This isn’t just music; it’s the essence of the film,” he said. It celebrates the inner strength that surges when we stand firm against the world, challenging truth and battling hardships with honesty.
Taapsee Pannu leads the cast, supported by Kan e Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub. Special appearances by Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, and Seema Pahwa add star power.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, produced by Banaras Media Works, with direction and production credits to Anubhav Sinha alongside Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar, ‘Assi’ hits theaters on February 20. ‘Man Hawa’ is already setting the tone for what promises to be a cinematic powerhouse.
