In a striking display of unity and inter-service synergy, the joint bike rally organized by Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard concluded triumphantly at the historic Pangsau Pass on Monday. This event, dubbed ‘From Sea to Summit,’ traversed challenging terrains to symbolize the seamless coordination between India’s maritime and land-based forces.
Defense spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat highlighted that the rally’s second phase underscores national resolve and fosters stronger bonds among armed services. Nestled at 3,727 feet atop the Patkai Hills on the India-Myanmar border, Pangsau Pass—also known as Pan Saung Pass—served as the perfect emblematic endpoint, evoking memories of wartime valor and cross-border camaraderie.
The final leg kicked off from Jairampur, winding through to Nampong Higher Secondary School. Participants engaged deeply with students and locals, delivering motivational speeches on discipline, service, and nation-building. Inspirational films showcased the ethos, roles, and unwavering commitment of both the Indian Coast Guard and Assam Rifles, igniting passion among the youth.
Flagged off by the Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles at Pangsau Pass, the closing ceremony featured a vibrant pipe band performance, exchange of mementos, and heartfelt interactions with border residents, including citizens from Myanmar. These exchanges bolstered people-to-people ties and promoted goodwill across international boundaries.
Lieutenant Colonel Rawat emphasized that ‘From Sea to Summit’ exemplifies inter-service coordination, youth engagement, and border outreach, reinforcing national unity from coastal shores to mountainous frontiers. Meanwhile, in a parallel initiative, the Indian Army launched ‘Mission Krishiveer’ in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh to bridge farmers and the military, initiated by Spearhead Division at Sigar Military Station in collaboration with Army Service Corps.
