Beijing, February 9 – A high-profile press conference for the China Media Group (CMG) ‘2026 Spring Festival Opera Gala’ unfolded in the Chinese capital, drawing representatives from CMG, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the National Archives of China, China Theatre Association, National Opera College, Beijing Opera Theatre, and a constellation of renowned and emerging opera artists from across the nation.

For the first time, this year’s gala will stage its grand performance in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, infusing the joyous Spring Festival celebrations with a fresh, fashionable, and youthful approach to promoting traditional opera. The event promises to blend China’s rich heritage with cutting-edge technology, ensuring these timeless arts continue to shine in the modern era.

By leveraging video as a dynamic medium, the gala will incorporate cultural elements from multiple ASEAN nations, fostering an international atmosphere of mutual exchange and civilizational dialogue.
