Sydney, February 9: The Indian women’s cricket team has touched down in Australia, gearing up for an exhilarating multi-format series against the hosts starting February 15. This high-stakes encounter includes three T20Is, three ODIs, and a single Test match, promising thrilling action across formats.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a vibrant video on Monday, capturing the team’s infectious excitement upon arrival. Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain, the squad is primed for battle in all formats.

Mandhana, fresh from celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) second Women’s Premier League (WPL) title, spoke candidly about transitioning from festivities to national duty. In the BCCI video posted on social media platform X, she said, ‘I was super busy. We had a blast, but now we’re back for national duty.’

The T20I leg kicks off at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground on February 15, followed by the second match at Manuka Oval in Canberra on February 19, and the decider at Adelaide Oval on February 21. This series holds extra significance as a key preparatory phase for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, slated from June 12 to July 5.

Post T20s, the ODIs commence on February 24 in Brisbane, with the second clash at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, and the finale on March 1 at the same venue. The tour culminates with a historic Test match in Perth starting March 6.

Adding emotional depth, this will be the swansong for Australia’s legendary Alyssa Healy, who announced her retirement from all formats after this series. Fans worldwide are set for a spectacle of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship as India aims to conquer Down Under.
