Bhopal, February 9. In a scathing attack on the Congress party, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang accused them of opposing Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, festivals, and saints while now distributing Islamic Hijri calendars. He declared that Congress is willing to go to any extremes in its appeasement politics.
Speaking to journalists, Sarang questioned, ‘Congress opposes Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, Hindu festivals, and saints. What are they trying to prove by distributing Islamic calendars now? Give one example of any Congress leader distributing positive literature or material related to Hindu festivals.’
He alleged that Congress wears the sacred thread during elections to project themselves as Hindus but engages in Muslim appeasement behind the scenes. ‘If BJP or any other party organizes Hindu religious events, Congress labels it as Bhagwa extremism. But by distributing Hijri calendars, they are clearly showing their Muslim favoritism,’ Sarang added.
Sarang also referenced Congress’s opposition to the Ram Temple. ‘Congress opposes Ram Temple, questions Lord Ram’s existence, and filed an affidavit in Supreme Court denying Ram’s existence. On the other hand, they distribute Islamic calendars. This is clear minority appeasement and vote-bank politics.’
The BJP leader stated that Congress’s double standards are now exposed before the public. ‘They hurt Hindu sentiments but will go to any extent to woo minorities.’
This statement comes after Congress leader Manoj Shukla from Narela assembly constituency got 50,000 Hijri calendars printed and distributed them in mosques and Muslim families. Narela has around 28% Muslim voters, numbering over one lakh. While Congress calls it Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and shop of love, BJP terms it politics that promotes extremists.
