In a shocking incident in Dhanbad, loan recovery agent Amit Kumar Agarwal was found murdered inside the house of Vikas Khandelwal at Surya Highland Society in the Saraidhela police station area. The discovery was made on Sunday, sending ripples of fear through the local community.
Police rushed to the scene, secured the body, conducted a detailed panchnama, and sent it for postmortem at Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Memorial Medical College Hospital. Family members of the deceased, residents of Sadar police station area, had already filed a missing person report earlier. The complaint highlighted extortion calls demanding 15 lakh rupees traced to Amit’s mobile phone.
Using technical evidence, police tracked the mobile location and initiated a thorough investigation. DSP Law and Order Naushad Alam revealed that Vikas Khandelwal was taken into custody based on the location data. During intense interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder, leading police to recover Amit’s body on his directions.
Investigations uncovered a bitter feud between the victim and accused over a loan settlement worth nearly one crore rupees. This financial dispute escalated into a fatal confrontation. Amit was reportedly abducted late Saturday evening, and his body was discovered the next day, heightening tensions in the area.
Police continue rigorous questioning of the accused while probing potential accomplices and other angles. Authorities assure the public of swift justice in this gruesome case, underscoring the dangers faced by recovery agents in high-stakes financial dealings.
