In a bold move to curb reckless behavior among youth, Chhattisgarh’s Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara police launched a powerful awareness drive via social media. The latest episode of their ‘Khaki Talks’ series drew thousands of viewers to a Facebook Live session hosted by Superintendent of Police Bhawna Gupta.

The session, held on Saturday afternoon, zeroed in on the growing menace of minors performing hazardous stunts on bikes and four-wheelers. SP Gupta highlighted recent viral videos from Kasdol area’s schools, where underage students showcased perilous antics that have inspired copycats. ‘These stunts are a ticking time bomb,’ she warned, emphasizing that a single misstep could prove fatal.

Addressing parents and school principals directly, Gupta urged them to educate children on traffic rules and monitor their activities closely. She stressed that no minor should be allowed behind the wheel of high-speed vehicles. Legal repercussions, she clarified, extend to vehicle owners and guardians in cases of violations by minors.

Joining the discussion were Additional SP Hemsagar Sidar and Deputy SP (Traffic) Sanjay Sahu, who delved into traffic laws, penalties, and relevant acts. Students from Swami Atmanand School in Simga, Palari, Lawan, and other institutions tuned in, praising the initiative.

‘Khaki Talks’ has become a staple for covering critical issues like cyber safety, juvenile crime, women’s security, and road awareness. By harnessing social media’s reach, police aim to foster a safer, more responsible younger generation in Chhattisgarh.
