Mumbai’s political circles are buzzing with reactions to the landmark India-US trade agreement. Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC has hailed it as a major victory for India, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic prowess. In an exclusive interview, she emphasized how the deal strengthens India’s import-export dynamics and bolsters the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Shaina NC didn’t hold back in praising PM Modi’s approach. ‘He has always believed in dialogue that ensures India’s interests come first,’ she said. This agreement, she added, opens doors for more such successes, promising economic growth and global competitiveness for Indian businesses.
Her comments come amid contrasting views within Shiv Sena factions. While celebrating national achievements, Shaina NC took a sharp dig at Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant’s past controversial remark against women. She condemned such language as reflective of UBT’s core mentality, stressing that politics demands respect for every woman entering the fray.
Highlighting Deputy CM Eknath Shinde’s commitment to women’s safety through initiatives like ‘Ladki Bahin’, Shaina NC argued that offensive words are unacceptable. ‘Apologies don’t erase the damage; strict action is needed to set societal examples,’ she asserted. When MPs set poor precedents, it trickles down to common citizens, she warned.
Shaina NC also celebrated India’s youth and sporting heroes. From 19-year-old daughters excelling globally to the women’s cricket team, she said India’s talent is shining worldwide after years of hard work. ‘This is the result of perseverance; kudos to our young achievers and their families,’ she beamed.
Drawing from personal history, she recalled her father’s close friendship with Balasaheb Thackeray, who treated her like a daughter. ‘If alive today, Balasaheb would have reprimanded Sawant sternly, reminding him this isn’t Shiv Sena’s true ethos,’ she concluded, underscoring the party’s foundational values of dignity and strength.
