Patna, February 7: JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad firmly defended the India-US interim trade agreement, asserting that it comprehensively safeguards India’s interests while effectively countering all opposition allegations. Speaking to the media, Prasad highlighted how this pact opens golden opportunities for Indian producers and exporters.
He noted that India has already forged nine major trade agreements with some of the world’s largest economies, a move expected to significantly bolster the manufacturing sector. Looking ahead, proposed free trade pacts with the European Union and other global partners will further cement India’s position as a rising economic powerhouse.
Addressing opposition concerns over dairy and agriculture sectors, Prasad recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurances that stakeholders in these vital areas have nothing to worry about. The agreement’s announcement reinforces India’s continued dominance in dairy and farming, dispelling all unfounded fears.
Shifting focus to Bihar, Prasad pointed to transformative changes in key sectors, with rising investments, policy refinements, and infrastructure upgrades paving the way for the state to emerge as a manufacturing hub in the coming years.
In sports news, Prasad praised young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stellar performance, crediting him for India’s unbeaten run and title triumph in the tournament. On behalf of JD(U), he extended hearty congratulations to Suryavanshi and the team, wishing them a bright future.
On the arrest of MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in a 1995 case, Prasad dismissed it as political posturing, noting the 31-year-old matter led to attachment orders by the MP-MLA court, culminating in the arrest. LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti echoed that all parliamentarians must uphold democratic values, parliamentary decorum, and the rule of law.
