In a significant boost to local entrepreneurship, Bhagalpur’s District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary led a massive loan approval and distribution camp on Friday at the Silk Bhawan premises. Organized under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME), the event drew hundreds of aspiring business owners eager to turn their ideas into reality.
Key officials including the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), General Manager of the District Industries Centre (GM DIC), NEP Director, Lead District Manager (LDM), and Assistant Director of Industries Ambriish Anand joined representatives from various banks. The atmosphere buzzed with optimism as DM Chaudhary personally handed over loan cheques to selected entrepreneurs, marking a pivotal moment in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Addressing the gathering, the DM emphasized the schemes’ core goal: transforming young job seekers into job creators through self-employment. He praised the entrepreneurs’ enthusiasm and urged them to pursue their startups with unwavering dedication. ‘These initiatives are designed to empower you to build sustainable businesses,’ he stated, highlighting government commitment to fostering innovation.
The DDC echoed these sentiments, underscoring banks’ crucial role in nurturing Bhagalpur’s industrial ecosystem. He commended bankers for timely loan sanctions and stressed that seamless coordination between administration and financial institutions is key to expanding micro-enterprises. This collaborative spirit, he noted, promises accelerated growth for small-scale industries in the district.
As the event concluded, Project Manager Rakesh Kumar expressed gratitude to all participants, bank officials, and entrepreneurs. In his vote of thanks, he reaffirmed the Industries Department’s pledge to provide comprehensive support, ensuring every aspiring entrepreneur has the resources to thrive. This camp not only disbursed funds but also ignited hope for economic self-reliance in Bhagalpur.
