NAGPUR: In a resounding endorsement of Vidarbha’s strategic importance, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence and Aerospace, declared on Friday that the region stands at the heart of India’s energy narrative. Speaking at the ‘Advantage Vidarbha 2026’ summit, he emphasized that the Adani Group’s commitment here transcends mere transactions—it’s a legacy for generations.

Adani’s presence in Vidarbha is laser-focused on building energy security, generating high-quality jobs, empowering communities, and fortifying India’s economic backbone. ‘Our investments align seamlessly with three national priorities,’ Jeet Adani stated. These include powering a clean and reliable energy future for India, developing an integrated industrial and logistics ecosystem, and enabling inclusive growth for communities and youth.

At the forefront is the ultra-modern 3,300 MW supercritical power plant in Tirora, Maharashtra’s largest, engineered to global benchmarks of efficiency and environmental stewardship. In a bold revival, the group resuscitated the 600 MW Butibori plant in 2025, underscoring its dedication to resolving stressed assets and bolstering the nation’s power infrastructure.

Through 25-year supply agreements, Adani now guarantees 6,600 MW of reliable power to Maharashtra, blending solar output from Khawda with robust thermal baseload. This forms the backbone supporting the state’s industries, urban centers, and digital economy.

A game-changer looms in Kalmeshwar’s Linga with a Rs 70,000 crore integrated coal gasification and downstream derivatives complex. This ambitious project promises 30,000 direct jobs, advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities, energy self-reliance for key sectors, and positions Nagpur firmly on the global clean energy map.

Venturing into aviation and defense, the acquisition of Indamer Technics has expanded Adani’s 30-acre MRO complex in MIHAN. Featuring 15 aircraft bays, FAA and DGCA certifications, and integration with Air Works’ global network, Nagpur is emerging as an international hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul.

On the social front, Adani Foundation’s initiatives in Gondia and Nagpur bolster primary healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment through 43 self-help groups, the Fortune Suposhan nutrition program, solar lighting, clean water, sports, and school development.

‘Vidarbha isn’t just a region of Maharashtra—it’s a powerhouse set to define India’s growth story for decades,’ Jeet Adani concluded, painting a vivid picture of transformative progress.
