Jaipur erupted into high alert on Friday when the Rajasthan High Court received a chilling bomb threat via email. Claiming three powerful RDX explosives were planted inside the premises, the anonymous message forced immediate evacuation of the entire complex, halting all judicial proceedings at the Jaipur bench.

Court administration swiftly notified local police, who deployed bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs. Security teams combed through courtrooms, judges’ chambers, and lawyers’ areas in a thorough search operation. After hours of intense scrutiny, no explosives were found, allowing lawyers and litigants to re-enter and proceedings to resume.

Meanwhile, searches continued at the Jodhpur bench, with security forces meticulously checking every corner. ACP Chhavi Sharma confirmed the gravity of the situation, noting the building was fully cleared for a comprehensive investigation.

Advocate Gokulesh Bohra recounted receiving the threat around 11 AM, praising the rapid and safe evacuation protocol. This incident marks yet another in a series plaguing Rajasthan’s judiciary. Last year alone, the High Court faced six such threats, including five consecutive emails in December that repeatedly disrupted operations.

Police cyber and intelligence units are tracing the email’s origin, treating every threat seriously despite most proving hoaxes. These false alarms have strained emergency services and caused widespread disruptions. Beyond courts, session courts, collectorates, Jaipur International Airport, and even SM Stadium received multiple threats, leading to flight delays and public inconvenience.

Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant yet calm, warning that issuing fake bomb threats is a serious crime punishable by strict law. In response to repeated targeting of critical infrastructure, police are bolstering preventive measures to safeguard public safety and prevent panic.
