RANCHI: In a major relief for aspiring Haj pilgrims, Jharkhand’s Health Minister and Jharkhand Haj Committee Chairman Dr. Irfan Ansari announced that the state government will fully fund all medical check-ups and vaccinations for Haj 2026 travelers. Speaking at a crucial meeting with civil surgeons from across the state, Ansari emphasized zero tolerance for any lapses in the preparation process.

The minister underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring top-notch health facilities for every pilgrim. With around 1,670 Jharkhand residents set to embark on the sacred journey next year, timely medical screening is paramount. Strict directives have been issued to complete all screenings by February 7, 2026, paving the way for vaccinations to commence from February 8.

‘Post-screening clearance is mandatory for vaccination and visa processing,’ Ansari stated, urging seamless coordination among districts. He also raised concerns over the removal of the immigration point from Ranchi, revealing ongoing discussions with the Haj Committee of India to resolve the issue.

The meeting, attended by civil surgeons including Dr. Prabhath Ranjan from Sadar Hospital Ranchi and other officials, focused on streamlining the entire medical protocol. This proactive approach aims to prevent health-related hurdles during the pilgrimage, allowing devotees to focus solely on their spiritual obligations.

As preparations gain momentum, the state machinery is leaving no stone unturned to support its Muslim community. This initiative not only alleviates financial burdens but also guarantees comprehensive health safeguards, setting a benchmark for pilgrim welfare in the region.
