New Delhi buzzed with political fireworks as BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi unleashed a sharp rebuttal to Leader of the House JP Nadda’s recent parliamentary remark. Nadda had indirectly targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, urging senior party figures not to hold their party ‘hostage to an ignorant child.’ Trivedi amplified this on social media platform X, dissecting the term ‘abodh’ – literally ‘a’ prefixed to ‘bodh,’ meaning devoid of knowledge.

‘Knowledge knows no boundaries, nor does ignorance respect age,’ Trivedi declared, pointing directly at the Leader of Opposition’s conduct. He lambasted Gandhi’s apparent unawareness of parliamentary norms, emphasizing that media reports do not qualify as substantial evidence on the floor of the House. ‘Official documents laid on the table are the only authentic facts,’ he stressed.

Trivedi delved deeper into national security sensitivities, noting that communications between the Army Chief, Prime Minister, and Defence Minister fall under the Official Secrets Act of 1923. Such matters remain strictly confidential and beyond public discourse or domain. ‘Anyone oblivious to this is truly ignorant,’ he asserted.

Drawing historical parallels, Trivedi referenced a declassified 1962 letter from Jawaharlal Nehru to US President John F. Kennedy, pleading for B-52 bombers, squadrons, pilots, ground staff, and even radars operated by Americans – effectively handing over India’s air force command. He quoted BK Nehru, India’s ambassador and Jawaharlal’s nephew, from his book ‘Nice Guys Finish Second,’ who recounted his shame while delivering the letter, breaking down in tears.

‘This shameful surrender stands validated by the nephew’s own words,’ Trivedi posted. The exchange stems from Thursday’s Rajya Sabha session where Nadda addressed Congress seniors without naming Gandhi, prompting Mallikarjun Kharge to protest vehemently. As political rhetoric escalates ahead of key sessions, Trivedi’s comments underscore BJP’s aggressive counter-narrative against opposition tactics.
