In a heartwarming display of swift action, Delhi Police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and Crime Branch have successfully reunited two missing minor boys with their families in separate incidents linked to Mukherjee Nagar and Wazirabad areas.
The first case involved a 12-year-old boy with mental challenges who vanished from Mukherjee Nagar on September 6, 2025. A case was promptly registered at the local police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Given the child’s vulnerability, AHTU took charge of the investigation under ACP Suresh Kumar’s supervision.
Inspector Mukesh Kumar and ASI Ajay Kumar Jha led a dedicated team that worked tirelessly. They scoured CCTV footage, interrogated locals, leveraged technical surveillance, and disseminated the boy’s details across social media. Family and relatives were also extensively consulted. These relentless efforts culminated in the safe recovery of the child.
Investigations revealed the boy lived in a rented accommodation in Nirankari Colony, Delhi, where he worked washing cars during the day and as a night security guard. Due to his mental condition, he wandered off from home, got lost, and ended up at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. No abduction was involved; it was a case of the child straying away.
In the second incident, a 15-year-old boy went missing from Wazirabad on January 22, 2026. An FIR was filed two days later at Wazirabad police station under BNS provisions. AHTU again stepped in, with ACP Suresh Kumar guiding Inspector Mukesh Kumar, ASI Mahesh, and Head Constable Naresh Kumar.
The team conducted thorough local inquiries, technical surveillance, and field operations while gathering inputs from the family. A crucial tip from ASI Mahesh led to the boy’s recovery from Azadpur Sabzi Mandi on February 4, 2026.
Probe findings showed the teenager fled home following a family dispute and sought refuge at his aunt’s place. Again, no kidnapping—just a domestic fallout.
Both boys were safely handed over to their families, and the cases transferred to respective police stations for further legal proceedings. Families and residents have praised the AHTU team’s efficiency, boosting public confidence in law enforcement.
These rescues underscore the vital role of coordinated police efforts in protecting vulnerable children, reaffirming Delhi Police’s commitment to community safety.
