In a major breakthrough, Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has dismantled an inter-state car theft syndicate operating with sophisticated technology. A joint operation by Sector-39 police station and Noida Surveillance Team led to the arrest of six notorious vehicle thieves.
Authorities recovered four stolen cars worth approximately 40 lakh rupees, along with high-tech gadgets used in the crimes, fake number plates, and a taxi vehicle. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sameer alias Dawood, Salim, Azad, another Salim, Mohsin, and Mohammad Faisal. The prime suspect, Azad, faces over 38 cases across Delhi, Noida, and other states.
Investigations reveal the gang employed a Hyundai Ora taxi for round-the-clock reconnaissance, rotating drivers to avoid detection. They used on-demand key programmers and GPS jammers to steal cars in mere minutes and escape swiftly. Stolen vehicles were sold in Rajasthan, Haryana’s Mewat region, and elsewhere for 1 to 2 lakh rupees each.
The recovered vehicles include two Maruti Brezza SUVs, one Maruti Swift, and one Hyundai Ora. Police also seized six T-lock breakers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, an OBD Star key programmer, GPS jammer, two fake plates, and other tools.
This gang was responsible for numerous thefts in Noida, Delhi-NCR, and beyond. Local intelligence and electronic surveillance tracked their movements, culminating in arrests near Sector-82 cut. The team received 25,000 rupees in cash reward from DCP. Further probes into the gang’s network continue.
