Patna, February 4. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced on Wednesday a major push for industrial growth with the establishment of a Defense Corridor in the state. This ambitious project promises not just to fortify Bihar’s manufacturing base but also to unlock thousands of employment opportunities for the youth.

The announcement came during a high-level meeting at Choudhary’s official residence in Patna. Senior officials and experts from the National Defence Academy (NDA), on a study tour from the Ministry of Defence, joined the discussions. The talks delved deeply into the blueprint, potential, and multifaceted benefits of the proposed corridor.

Choudhary described the meeting as a pivotal moment for Bihar’s industrial and strategic advancement. Under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the NDA government remains steadfast in its commitment to youth employment. Over the past five years, more than 5 million government jobs and employment avenues have been created. Looking ahead, the target is to provide 10 million such opportunities in the next five years.

‘Our priority is to ensure Bihar’s youth don’t have to migrate for work,’ Choudhary emphasized. ‘They should find rewarding careers right here.’ To this end, the government is aggressively promoting industries. A massive industrial corridor is taking shape in Dobhi, Gaya district, poised to become a cornerstone of the state’s progress.

Complementing this, initiatives like a semiconductor manufacturing park and new industrial zones in Bhagalpur and elsewhere are underway. The Defense Corridor will position Bihar as a key player in defense production and advanced technology. With the double-engine government’s relentless efforts, Bihar is on track to emerge as an industrial and job hub. This meeting with the defence ministry team marks a concrete step forward.
