Patna, February 4: BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnavaz Hussain unleashed a sharp critique against opposition leaders, particularly targeting Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly breaching parliamentary decorum. Speaking exclusively to IANS, Hussain addressed Rahul’s persistent references to alleged Chinese incursions in Parliament.
Hussain pointed out that the Lok Sabha Speaker has explicitly ruled against citing unpublished books as references in the House. ‘Yet, Rahul Gandhi is deliberately ignoring the sanctity and rules of Parliament,’ he asserted. This comes amid ongoing disruptions where Rahul has raised border security concerns, drawing ire from the ruling party.
Escalating his attack, Hussain labeled Rahul not as the Leader of Opposition, but as the ‘Leader against India.’ He accused the Congress leader of making it a habit to oppose national interests at every turn, undermining the country’s unity and progress.
Turning to Bihar’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, Hussain clarified that no legitimate voter’s name has been erroneously removed. ‘Only those who have shifted residences, moved elsewhere, or passed away have been struck off,’ he explained, countering opposition claims of foul play.
Hussain didn’t spare Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, accusing him of misleading the public on the SIR process. ‘Akhilesh is creating confusion not just in UP but across the nation,’ he charged, urging voters to see through the misinformation.
In a pointed jab at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Hussain dismissed her recent outbursts as mere ‘drama.’ With elections looming, he claimed Bengal’s people have recognized her ‘jungle raj’ governance. ‘Terrified of defeat, Mamata is now accusing the Election Commission of fraud to shift blame for her impending loss,’ Hussain concluded, painting a picture of a desperate opposition on the backfoot.
