New Delhi is buzzing with anticipation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for an official visit to Malaysia on February 7-8, 2026. This trip, invited by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, marks PM Modi’s third visit to the Southeast Asian nation and the first since bilateral ties were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.

During the two-day engagement, PM Modi will hold in-depth discussions with his counterpart on a wide array of critical issues. The agenda spans trade and investment opportunities, defense collaboration, maritime security, digital and fintech innovations, energy security, healthcare advancements, educational exchanges, cultural ties, tourism promotion, and people-to-people connections.

The visit underscores the deep historical, civilizational, and cultural bonds between India and Malaysia. Over 2.9 million Indian expatriates in Malaysia – the third-largest such community globally – serve as a vital bridge strengthening these relations.

PM Modi is also scheduled to interact with the Indian diaspora, business leaders, and industry representatives. Coinciding with the visit, the 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum will convene, fostering direct dialogues between corporate heads to unlock new investment avenues.

This high-level meeting offers both leaders a prime platform to review the multifaceted progress in bilateral cooperation and chart a roadmap for future synergies that promise mutual prosperity. As global uncertainties loom, such strategic alignments highlight India’s proactive diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific region.
