Jharkhand’s much-awaited board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 kicked off today, February 3, across the state, drawing over 7.48 lakh students to 1,989 examination centers. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has meticulously organized 1,232 centers for matric exams and 757 for intermediate, ensuring a smooth process amid heightened security measures.
To guarantee fair and cheating-free evaluations, authorities have ramped up surveillance like never before. CCTV cameras, magistrates, and robust police deployments dot every center. Question papers are transported under tight vigil from treasuries to venues, with zero tolerance for lapses.
Exams unfold in two shifts: matric in the morning and intermediate from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Students must arrive 30 minutes early with admit cards, steering clear of rumors that could disrupt focus.
In Ranchi, 139 centers host 64,920 candidates—32,723 for matric across 87 sites and 32,197 for intermediate at 52 locations. A key highlight is the imposition of Section 163 of BNSS within 200 meters of 75 Ranchi centers from February 3 to 17. This prohibitory order, active daily from 6:45 AM to 8:20 PM, bans gatherings of five or more people (except officials or funerals), loudspeakers, weapons, and unauthorized assemblies.
These measures address potential crowds by students and parents that could breach law and order. Police and magistrates stand ready to enforce discipline, underscoring JAC’s commitment to integrity. As pencils hit papers, Jharkhand eyes a landmark examination season free from malpractices.
