New Delhi’s corporate heavyweights are celebrating a landmark India-US trade agreement that slashes tariffs on Indian goods from 50% to 18%. This move, hailed as a strategic triumph, promises to deepen economic ties between the world’s largest democracies.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra captured the sentiment on X, posting, ‘The benefits of moving slowly but surely are evident once again. When the noise dies down, two natural partners come together.’ His words resonate amid the buzz of optimism sweeping India’s business corridors.

Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, emphasizing how the tariff reduction will fortify strategic and economic relations. ‘This opens new avenues for investment and collaboration,’ Birla stated, reaffirming his group’s commitment to expanding in the US, a hub of innovation and growth.

National Stock Exchange MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan called it a ‘big win’ for business, supply chains, and bilateral partnerships. With global trade facing headwinds, this deal stands out as a beacon of progress, immediately easing duties and paving the way for gradual removal of other barriers.

Mahindra Group CEO Dr. Anish Shah echoed the enthusiasm, welcoming the pact as a pivotal step to bolster trade and investment. ‘It accelerates growth momentum and provides the predictability businesses crave for confident investments,’ he noted, aligning perfectly with India’s robust economic trajectory.

Prime Minister Modi announced the breakthrough, confirming that ‘Made in India’ products will now face just 18% tariffs in the US. His conversation with Trump was described as ‘fantastic,’ underscoring how collaboration between two economic giants benefits citizens and unlocks vast opportunities.

Trump’s confirmation has sealed the deal, signaling a new era of cooperation. As Modi highlighted, such partnerships are vital for global peace, stability, and prosperity, with India backing Trump’s peace initiatives. This agreement not only boosts exports but redefines Indo-US relations for the future.
