In a major breakthrough, Noida Sector-63 police have arrested Guddu Alam, the mastermind behind a massive interior design fraud that swindled victims out of nearly two crore rupees. Operating through his company, I Home Master Private Limited, Alam lured customers with promises of stunning designs and timely delivery, only to vanish after pocketing advance payments.
Acting on manual intelligence and electronic surveillance, officers raided his Sector-63 office and took him into custody. The seizure included six monitors, six CPUs, six keyboards, and one mobile phone, shedding light on his elaborate setup.
Alam signed contracts with around 20 clients, collecting hefty advances—typically 50-60% of project costs. Victims recount a pattern: attractive proposals followed by no work, ignored calls, and threats of violence when demanding refunds. One Greater Noida flat owner lost 10 lakhs with zero progress on the promised interiors.
Investigations reveal confirmed embezzlement of over 94 lakhs so far, with police probing deeper for additional victims. Alam, a 35-year-old B.Tech graduate from Bihar, confessed to directing the firm since 2021. He deliberately damaged properties mid-project to trap clients, spending the money on personal luxuries fueled by social media hype and cold calls.
Two FIRs were already registered at Sector-63 station. A dedicated team now hunts his accomplices as the probe intensifies. This arrest sends a strong message to fraudsters exploiting the booming home decor market in India’s urban hubs.
