Gwalior, February 2. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhia hailed the 2026-27 Union Budget as a transformative blueprint fulfilling the nation’s aspirations for a developed India. Speaking at a press conference in Ashoknagar under Gwalior division, the BJP MP from Guna emphasized how the budget marks a decisive stride toward realizing the national resolve of Viksit Bharat at the grassroots level.

Sindhia described the budget as a ‘clear roadmap for developed India,’ aligning seamlessly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He highlighted its focus on bolstering economic strength, expanding infrastructure, and investing in future technologies. ‘India is firmly on track to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027,’ he asserted confidently.

Delving into key economic achievements, Sindhia noted that India’s GDP has doubled from $2 trillion to $4.3 trillion over the past decade. Inflation remained remarkably low at 1.7% between April and December 2025, one of the lowest globally. The fiscal deficit stands at 4.4%, with plans to reduce it to 4.3% next year.

Infrastructure spending has surged dramatically from Rs 2 lakh crore in 2014 to Rs 12 lakh crore today, fueling national growth. For northeastern states, allocations have increased by 50% to Rs 6,800 crore, alongside Rs 72,000 crore for telecommunications.

The budget addresses core sectors like textiles, agriculture, services, and education while promoting forward-looking areas such as content creation, tourism, and artificial intelligence. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented this Rs 53.5 lakh crore budget on February 1, introducing measures to boost manufacturing, tax exemptions for global data centers, and incentives for agriculture and tourism amid global uncertainties.

Sindhia’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to sustainable development, positioning India as a global economic powerhouse ready for the future.
