RANCHI: In a significant boost to rural education infrastructure, Jharkhand’s Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperatives Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey laid the foundation stone for four major development schemes on Monday in the Mandar and Chanho blocks of her assembly constituency. Funded through the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) and Central Coalfields Limited’s (CCL) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, these projects aim to enhance school facilities amid rising student enrollments.

In Mandar block, Minister Tirkey inaugurated construction of eight new classrooms at the Government Middle School under DMFT funding. She also kicked off the building of three additional rooms at the Jharkhand Residential Girls School in Mandar. These expansions address the pressing need for more space in overcrowded institutions.

Shifting to Chanho block, the minister laid the cornerstone for a solar-powered deep boring system and dining shed at the Rajkiya Middle Upgraded School in Hutar, financed by CCL’s CSR funds. Additionally, under DMFT, eight new classrooms will rise at the Rajkiya Upgraded Middle School in Chanho, promising better learning environments for local children.

Addressing a large gathering as the chief guest, Minister Tirkey emphasized the critical role of expanded classrooms and basic amenities in accommodating growing student numbers. ‘DMFT resources are being prioritized for education, health, and basic infrastructure to ensure direct benefits reach the common people,’ she stated. She described education as the bedrock of a progressive society, fostering confidence and discipline in students for guaranteed success.

The event extended beyond inaugurations. In Chanho, Tirkey distributed literacy certificates to parents under the ‘Ullas Nav Bharat Saksharta Abhiyan’. This initiative connects illiterate adults to education, integrating them into society’s mainstream. ‘Literacy boosts social awareness and eases the implementation of development schemes,’ she noted.

Later, the minister visited Loyo village in Mandar block to participate in the church’s foundation day celebrations, underscoring her commitment to community engagement. Local representatives, administrative officials, school management committees, and numerous villagers attended the foundation-laying ceremonies, reflecting widespread community support for these educational advancements.

These initiatives mark a proactive step by the Jharkhand government towards bridging infrastructural gaps in rural areas, particularly in mining-affected regions reliant on DMFT and CSR contributions. With schools poised for upgrades, the future looks brighter for thousands of students in Mandar and Chanho.
