Noida buzzes with excitement as Pro Wrestling League (PWL) gears up for a massive expansion. Fresh off the thrilling 2026 season finale where Haryana Thunder clinched the title with a nail-biting 5-4 victory over Delhi Danga Warriors, Chairman Dayan Faruqui unveiled ambitious plans. The packed stadium finale underscored wrestling’s deep roots in Indian hearts, drawing record crowds after a six-year hiatus.

Faruqui confirmed discussions to integrate Greco-Roman wrestling alongside freestyle bouts, elevating the league’s global stature. ‘This is just the beginning,’ he declared, hinting at two Greco-Roman matches per event in future seasons. But the real game-changer? A dedicated gaming app for fans, set to launch soon, transforming passive viewers into interactive participants.

The app aims to deepen fan engagement, building a lasting ecosystem beyond the mat. Faruqui emphasized the overwhelming fan support: ‘Seeing happy faces is our true victory. Wrestling needs no explanation—it’s India’s pride, our Olympic medal machine.’ The housefull final proved it, fueling dreams of bigger spectacles.

International eyes are on PWL too. United World Wrestling (UWW) reps attended, expressing keen interest in collaborations. They want to send global wrestlers to India for exposure, praising the league’s platform. Faruqui beamed: ‘It’s an honor. Our goal was to spotlight Indian talent; now, we’re eyeing grander international tie-ups.’

As PWL plots its roadmap—more styles, tech innovations, and fan-centric initiatives—the league promises to redefine combat sports in India. Fans, brace for an immersive revolution.
