In a significant cultural rendezvous in Lucknow, the makers of the upcoming film ‘Godaan’ met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday. The meeting centered around the launch of the film’s trailer, highlighting the sacred role of cows in Indian tradition, their protection, and the scientific benefits of panchgavya.
The film, produced and directed by Vinod Chaudhary, pays homage to cow conservation efforts led by CM Yogi’s administration. Chaudhary praised the UP government’s unwavering commitment, noting that since Yogi took office, crackdowns on cow smugglers have been relentless, leading to thousands of arrests. Over the past nine years, the state has established more than 7,500 cow shelters, protecting over 1.2 million stray cattle.
‘District-level cow protection committees, headed by DMs and SSPs, ensure grassroots implementation,’ Chaudhary emphasized during the courtesy call. He credited Yogi’s visionary leadership for transforming cow protection into a top priority, with expanded goshalas and strict anti-smuggling measures.
Set for nationwide release on February 6, ‘Godaan’ is more than a movie—it’s a manifesto blending cultural reverence, scientific insights into panchgavya’s health benefits, and a call for societal responsibility. The trailer launch at the CM’s residence underscored the film’s message: cows are not mere animals but the soul of Indian civilization, from Vedic times to the churning of the ocean for Kamdhenu.
Chaudhary highlighted a growing disconnect among the youth, who abandon cows post-milking, shifting the burden to the government. ‘This is our collective moral duty,’ he asserted. The film showcases how touching a cow brings mental peace, balances blood pressure, and aids healing, backed by science.
Present at the event were Shantanu Shukla (promotion head), Dr. Kapil Tyagi (CMD, Yatharth Hospital, Noida), and Naval Kishore. Chaudhary urged the CM to make the film tax-free, calling it essential viewing for families, schools, and all ages to revive cultural awareness.
Goseva Commission Chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta echoed the sentiment, describing cows as blessings for earth, agriculture, nature, and humanity. Under Yogi, UP has pioneered unprecedented cow welfare measures, making ‘Godaan’ a must-watch for every citizen.
