In a shocking development from Patna, the Bihar government has recommended a CBI investigation into the suspicious death of a NEET aspirant from Jehanabad. The student, who was preparing for the medical entrance exam in the state capital, died under mysterious circumstances, sparking outrage and political controversy.
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, branding it as a ‘corrupt and compromised system.’ In a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday, Yadav accused the administration of incompetence, claiming it cannot even solve a straightforward case of rape and murder.
The case had been under probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which had detained several individuals. However, the government’s decision to hand it over to the CBI has fueled suspicions. Yadav pointed out that the NDA leaders, who boast day and night about catching criminals, have failed spectacularly here.
‘Despite tall claims of nabbing criminals from the depths of hell, the corrupt machinery stands exposed,’ Yadav said. He drew parallels with past cases like the Nawruna incident, where CBI probes dragged on for over a decade without results, eventually getting shelved.
The political slugfest intensified after Deputy CM and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary announced on social media that the state has formally recommended CBI inquiry. This came hours after the victim’s family met DGP, demanding justice.
Tejashwi questioned the silence of those who screamed ‘Jungle Raj’ during elections. ‘Who will be accountable for Bihar’s crumbling law and order? Is this another headline management tactic?’ he asked, urging a thorough accountability drive.
As the controversy rages, the tragic incident underscores deeper issues in Bihar’s education hubs, where aspirants flock for coaching but face safety risks. The CBI’s involvement could bring clarity, but political blame game continues unabated.
