In a scathing attack on the Bihar government, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has criticized the decision to hand over the investigation of a NEET aspirant’s mysterious death in a Patna hostel to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage, with Yadav accusing the state’s administrative machinery of being corrupt and incompetent.
The young student, who was preparing rigorously for the competitive NEET exam, was found dead in her hostel room in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Initial reports suggested foul play, including allegations of rape and murder, prompting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to request a CBI probe. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary confirmed the development on social media platform X.
Taking to X himself, Yadav lambasted the NDA government, stating that instead of cracking the case themselves, they have exposed their own inefficiencies by shifting the burden to the CBI. ‘Bihar’s administrative structure is corrupt, incompetent, unskilled, and unprofessional, incapable of even solving a rape and murder case,’ he wrote.
Yadav pointed fingers at the ‘corrupt and compromised’ NDA apparatus, mocking their tall claims of nabbing criminals. He cited past failures like the Nawruna case, where the CBI took over a decade without results, warning that the same fate awaits this investigation.
‘Where are those who screamed ‘Jungle Raj’ during elections? Who will be held accountable for Bihar’s crumbling law and order?’ Yadav questioned, hinting at government tactics to divert attention through headline management.
The government maintains that no culprit will be spared, but public trust remains low amid rising concerns over student safety in coaching hubs. As the CBI steps in, families and activists demand swift justice, underscoring deeper systemic issues in Bihar’s policing and governance.
