In a shocking case from Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, two minor girls from Warsaliganj and Maheshpur in AliGanj under Babarganj police station have been missing since January 8. Sonakshi and Jiya, both students, vanished without a trace, and despite 23 days passing, police have failed to uncover any solid leads. The incident has sparked outrage over the authorities’ handling of the matter.
Families of the girls have been running from pillar to post, pleading at Babarganj police station, SSP office, City SP, and DSP levels. Each visit yields only vague assurances of ongoing investigations, but no concrete action on the ground. The prolonged inaction has left parents in despair.
Today, Sonakshi’s parents reached the office of Eastern Range IG Vivek Kumar, demanding swift recovery of their daughters. Speaking to media, father Subodh Kumar broke down in tears recalling his daughter, moving everyone present. ‘It’s heartbreaking that after so many days, we have no news of our child,’ he lamented.
DIG has promised continued probe and formation of an SIT, but these are echoes of past assurances. With families fearing the worst, the case tests police efficiency and empathy. The clock ticks as hope fades for the safe return of these young girls.
