A shocking murder has gripped Bihar’s Vaishali district after a woman was gunned down late at night in Hajipur. The victim, Gudiya, identified as the sister-in-law of LJP (Ram Vilas) national secretary Monika Sharma, was shot in the head. This high-profile killing has sparked intense police scrutiny, with clues pointing both inside and outside the family home.
The incident unfolded in the Chuhatta area under Nagar police station limits. Family members rushed Gudiya to Sadar Hospital after discovering her, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. News of the killing quickly spread, drawing LJP (R) workers and leaders to the hospital, turning the tragedy into a political flashpoint.
Gudiya’s husband, Arjun Paswan, who works as a private driver for ADJ-4 at Hajipur Civil Court, claims he heard his wife scream and found her collapsed near the handpump outside. Blood was oozing from her head and nose as he lifted her. But police are deeply suspicious of his account. If the shot was fired inside the house, why did no one else hear it?
Forensic teams scoured the scene and discovered bloodstains on a glass inside the home—a chilling find. Investigators suspect the murder happened during a domestic dispute indoors, with the body then dragged outside to stage it as an external attack. Gudiya’s father has openly questioned the in-laws, insisting it’s impossible no one heard the gunshot in a quiet house.
Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar confirmed police are probing every angle. Two suspects are in custody for questioning, though the spent cartridge remains missing, complicating the case. The body has been sent for postmortem, and viscera reports are awaited. As tensions rise, authorities vow a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this brazen crime.
